The cemetery is located in Yekaterinburg, east of the Urals Mountains in Russia. Located in the northwestern part of the city, it is called Shirokorechenskoe Cemetery. Scientists and World War II heroes are buried.
The cemetery began with the burial of about 800 Red Army soldiers and officers who died in 1945. Not only soldiers and artists, but also the mafia, which became famous in the area in the 1990s, are buried here.
After the collapse of the Soviet Union in the 1990s, the area became uncontrollable and became a hotbed of gangsters. Gangs were rampant in Yekaterinburg at the time, and crime was rampant. The most famous and powerful Russian mafia based in the city is the Uralmash. They became very rich by controlling the local economy by making money illegally through various means.
